But I see no reason why you can't (or shouldn't) do that -- in your own house. We don't use our living room anymore either and I tease DH that if I could afford an long-arm, it would go in there. But I would probably put it in my family room and move the sofa back into the living room.

Enjoy all your space to enlarge your sewing space. I've taken over 2 bedrooms (so far).
I told my DH that I was going to get rid of the sofa and his recliner and put a long arm in the great room. LOL

I say do it. In the bedroom all you do is sleep. Every quilter needs the largest room available.

It's fine to do what you plan. The good thing about using the master bedroom that way is that you don't have to spend any money on alterations to the house, and, when you go to sell the house, it still has 5 bedrooms!

I have my sewing/quilting room in the master bedroom of our house! Has been that way for about 7 years now.My husband said he didnt care which room the bed was in as long as he HAD a room with his bed in it to sleep in!!!So my little haven is 14x16 and its wonderful!

I know a lady that just did that she lives alone too and she turned her Master Bedroom into a Quilting Room it looks great I would say go for it
