I got my second UFO finished today- Kinda! LOL It started out as a class project to learn freezer paper piecing, I had to make 5 identical blocks, join them with triangles and a couple of borders and TA DA!! A wall hanging! Right? Wrong, don't know how I did it but all 5 blocks are diffrent sizes! Of course I can't take them apaart and redo them because you trim as you go! So I now have a tabel runner, a hot pad and one really strange looking orphan block. LOL OH Ya! I still cann't get my photos to up load! AGGGGH!! My Daughter is comming to visit next week Maybe she can figure out what I'm doing wrong. I know it has to be operator error!

I would like to join the challenge but like some of you I may not be able to do one a month. I have been off of work since August 2011 and after surgery in December I finally got the ok to start quilting in 15 or 20 minute stretches. I am so excited to be able to start but not sure where I came up with all sorts of ideas while on bed rest

Well, here we are at 21st Jan. How many UFOs have I completed? None. How many have I worked on? None. My excuses - working on practice pieces for Leah Day's Quilt Along - the reasoning there is that I will move on to the UFOs once my stitches look a bit better. And my machine threw a tantrum, stopping me until this week, when I got it repaired -and bought a new one! So the past couple of days have been spent getting to know the new acquisition (a Janome 7700). So, again, the plan is that this machine will mean that I can finally get the pile of tops quilted - my old machine was hopeless for quilting.
Unfortunately - my list of UFOs has just doubled at a stroke, as a kind friend has just had a clear-out of her quilting stuff and has given me a wonderful assortment of kits and blocks, some of which I'll make up into tops , as they're too nice to cut up for scraps - they'll give me more FMQ practice.
Anyway, the day may soon come (maybe even today!) when I can actually get going on the pile of projects and get to know my new machine at the same time.

Wildyard....I am not a fan of T-shirt quilts but yours is an exception. It seems to fit together...'to a T'.

Fraew....I like the 'Summer in the Park' pattern.
Can't offer you any help with the borders...I am not confident enough with color combos.
All I can offer is encouragement. Keep at it...it will come together.

    Default WIP's

Alrighty, These are my first 3 finishes for 2012. Admittedly they are small projects. But I'm having major motivation problems. So, I thought I'd start small so I could see finishes right away. And, they were on the WIP list. Today, I'm going to work on a lap quilt that's a WIP. I've pulled out this quilt several times because my seams just won't match up. Today, I'm going to try a different foot. If that doesn't work, next week my machine will probably have to be serviced.

I forgot to take a picture of the quilt I am quilting at this time undone. I am sending it out to be bound and going to help someone do some quilting on tops, the one part she is not excited about. I can do the quilting, but hate the binding. Well, will take a photo of what is not quilted right now and then will show when done completely. Should be good. I like how it is coming out. Doing feathered wreaths in the soldis and line dancing on the 9 patches. Taking some time, but practice will make me perfect, I know.

Am curious about what line dancing quilting might be. Can you explain it a little bit more or post a pic or sketch? I'm getting a little bolder with my quilting, and that sounds like something I might be able to do. LOL. So far I'm stuck on things that are basically straight stitching in various directions. Hugs and smilesssss.......
