Striking! Sandy. Love the red and black.

Deecee, Glad you jumped in. When we did the 2011 stars there were three from this book and that's what made me want to do more. It's addicting. I'm interested to see how your 6" blocks go. Maybe you can give the blocks other names if you don't want a USA quilt. Could just as easily be countries of the world. Hmmmm....then the stars could be the colors of that countries flag. Sorry, just rambling. :P

Steady on Whitepine........ I'm just trying to catch up - not even thinking about block names. I didn't do the Star BOM last year and I love pp'íng, especially Carol Doak patterns, so I figured this was meant to be.

I'm not sure about the 6" size but wanted to give it a go at a smaller size. I don't have a problem mixing my block sizes if I get tired of itty bitty pieces and want to go to the larger size.

DEECEE... wow, 6" you are very talented. I have trouble with the bigger pieces so I can't imagine using smaller ones. Way to go girlfriend.

OMG, I have enough trouble doing the 12" blocks. You are very brave. Loved the blocks posted today. Great job.
I'm almost done with California, but running out of steam tonight. Have 3 more seams to go. Maybe tonight... maybe not.

I'll see how I go at 6". Alabama might be the first and last.

A question for those who have the book. Does she give a pic of the completed block or just the ¼ section as in the download patterns?

suezq my first block pieces seemed scant to me too. It was my first attempt though so I may gave been placing them wonky. My second block I cut everything 1/4" bigger and for me it's working better. I just have a tad more to trim off.

She does show each whole block. It's very helpful to me.

Deecee, if you just look at this thread you will have pictures to go by unless you are working on stars that have not been posted yet. The only thing you wouldn't have that the book gives is the measurements for each star for the pieces to be cut - which is very helpful to me.
