My grandmother would say, "That woman was so mean she could go bear hunting with a switch."

My favorite saying, "Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without."

I had a high school teacher that would say, "Nothing is relevant to an ignorant person."

It's better to remain quiet and be thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt.

If you keep making that face it will freeze that way!
Who do you think is the boss here?

(And when I tried that on my three year old he looked up at me and said "Daddy". I left the room!)

When the wind is from the South, it blows the bait in the fishes mouth
When the wind is from the North, no fisherman should go forth
When the wind is from the East, it's not fit for man nor beast
When the wind is from the West, it's at it's very best.

My grandparents would say this in the mornings.

I had a boss that would say:

Watch your pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves. How true!
