When I was in a "sour" mood, my mom would tell me:" Vinegar doesn't attract flies."

A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can very well put off doing at all!
Be careful what you wish for--you just might get it.

I am loaded here - because I collect sayings and adages -

Don't cry because it is over - Smile because it happened.

No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is won't make you cry.

May the dragon of life only roast your hot dogs and never burn your buns!

A babbling brook would lose its song if you removed the rocks!

Everything is ok in the end! If not, then it's not the end.

It's the silence between the notes that makes the music.

When it is the darkest you can see the stars.

I've learned that the Lord didn't do it in one day. What makes me think I can?

I've learned that it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

If your only tool is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies.

I was laughing so hard I had tears running down my legs.

Nothing straight is made from crooked wood.

Life is short. Break the rules. Forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

The bluebird carries the sky on its back!

They say marriages are made in heaven, but so are thunder and lightning.

Having to explain it means you probably shouldn't have said it.

The heart ages last.

The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.

Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads.

A handful of patience is worth a bushel of brains.

One ounce of robin is worth a pound of Spring.

And my mother's???? Never empty handed to the kitchen go.

Edie

P.S. I have gone to find myself. If I am not back before I return, keep me here.

My Mom used to use a lot of sayings to get her point across. These are used when faced with difficult situations.
1. Two wrongs don't make a right. 2. The best revenge is living well. 3. Consider the source. 4. Never assume you know the reason someone did or said something.
When I make a quilting boo-boo I say, " now this is a design opportunity!!!"

Here's one I saw in a quilt shop:

The one who dies with the most fabric isn't sewing fast enough!

Oh for more time to sew

And on that note I forgot the one my grandmother used to say while she was mending:

A stitch in time saves nine
