Oh, how I remember those good old days. Life was so much calmer back then. Since I lived in a rural area we did not see hardly anyone for the three months that school was out. I remember ordering books thru the mail from the library. My home ec teacher (anyone remember home ec class?) came to my house just before I entered high school. It was the highlight of my summer!

Sounds a lot like my childhood in the sixties. I remember the milkman, the pretzel and potato chip man, the fuller brush man, and the avon lady! Our first color TV was a really big deal. Confession: I still watch Lawrence Welk reruns to walk down memory lane!

Quilt-Till-U-Wilt

Wonderful days they were. You knew everyone on your street. I walked almost a mile to school but we picked up friends at different corners and by the time we got there we had a group of 8-10 people. I looked through a box of memorabilia yesterday. I found the sales slip for a gift I bought for my first boyfriend. It was a tie tac and cuff links for $2.50. I worked part time then and made 50 cents an hour. I found old autograph books. Do they still have them? So many memories. I keep thinking I'll clear some of this out but it all goes back in the box.

Parents of today are in this fast lane, they'd really go into shock if they lived the way we did. Love the memories.

I remember those days also. When it was time for us kids to come home my dad would stand out on the front porch and whistle and we could hear him from the whole neighborhood. When we heard him whistle we knew it was time to come and we better hurry. No cell phones for our parents to call us on.
