LOL! I'll bet they felt like fools when she told them they were dolls.

These babies are beautiful just like everyone is saying. It reminded me of a doll my aunt made me 25 years ago. May I tell you my doll story? I was newly divorced with two teenage girls and it was our first Christmas starting over. Christmas was big and wonderful but I was probably still in shock. A lot of change. Anyway my dear aunt presented each of her four daughters with a porcelain doll dressed in cute frilly dresses in each girl's own color (pink, yellow, red, etc). For her daughters, the face and hair color was as close to each one. We were all in our 40s this Christmas (almost 25 years ago). I was the last one to get a doll which I didn't expect because I was a niece. So when I unwrapped my doll, she wasn't pretty or dressed in a frilly pastel dress. Then my aunt and uncle explained to me why. My uncle said he found the green head mold on the shelf and said this is the one that looks like you when you were a baby. He said, "You were a sad snotty nosed toddler and the face looked like you." And then my aunt said the dress was like the one my mom spent $25 (1947) on a red and navy dress and my dad had a fit. Skinny legs and arms and black Mary Jane shoes. My teenage girls were offended but I thought she was precious. A lot of work from my aunt. Well, I'm not a sad girl at all but I think it was a rough time for my mom. My aunt is 90 now and I am going to call her tomorrow and thank her again for my doll.
Thanks for reminding me.
BTW, Mom's quilts are posted today in Pictures titled, "Look What My Mom Did In Four Years."
