Sounds great - unfortunately in the UK we're still waiting - and waiting - for the Kindle Fire...

Wow, I never thought about getting quilt magazines...maybe I should not have read this thread. I have one of the keyboard kindles because I wanted it basically for reading...I can read so much longer on it. I tire of reading on the computer. anyway, I resisted getting one for so long...I would look and look at them and then think, no I like to hold a book in my hands. Not sure what tipped the scales but I got one for my birthday last November. It has saved so much on running to the library and worrying about getting stuff back when I couldn't renew it. But I can still get audio books through our library, via the internet.

I have a netbook that keep down by my sewing for color. I have the Kindle PC program on it...and on my big laptop....so would be fine for looking at magazines on either.

I've been researching and debating but I think this thread has tipped the scales for me toward the Kindle Fire. I was trying to figure out if I could borrow audio books from the library with the Fire but maybe it doesn't matter. So far, I've been pretty successful just borrowing the CDs. Renewal is easy - I signed up for the library notices and when a CD is coming due I get a notice. If it isn't convenient just then for me to return it, I renew it.

Forgot to mention earlier, if you have a Kindle and are a Prime member at Amazon (I don't remember price) you can borrow a book every month? I just returned a book about Crazy Quilting and am now reading one by Darlene Zimmerman. You have to return them before you can get another, and not all books are in their lending library, but what a great way to really see if you want the book, and heck darn, just to read it.

Has anyone purchased quilting magazines on their Kindle or do you purchase the magazines from the company and send it to your Kindle pdf?

Hi I like the idea of digital mag. I have a Kindle Fire and love it also. I went to the app store for mag and did a search and there was not a quilting mag for the Kindle Fire. What am I missing? Which mag do you have digital? or what site can I subscribe . thanks

I have a Kindle Fire too. I love it! I understand how you scanned it and saved it as a PDF, but how did you "send" it to the Kindle? I would love to be able to do this too.

I have the touch -- it is not in color and has a great battery life (60 hours or so). The touch is in color but the battery life is not as good. You don't want to read magazines on the touch -- or anything with color pictures.

I've enjoyed this discussion. I have a kindle fire, but haven't learned some of the functions I would use. I won't be using all the bells and whistles, but you guys have made me curious and eager to check it out.
