    Joe,

    A friend of mine just got this Hother. Same plates as yours, but different decals. Both are beautiful machines.

    Thanks Cathy! That is what I wanted to know. From a frontal shot of the machine, the right side looks to be open. I just thought if so, then how are those inner guts versus some of the younger machines.

    Cathy, thank you for the needles for my Free. Do you work on the motors? The motor does not sound right on the Free. Hubby and I know nothing about the motors and I want someone to look at it. Are you interested? Kathie

    Those Free-Westinghouse motors sometimes can be a bear to get access to (they are are built in). I am willing to look at yours and see what I can do. Call me. I'll PM you with me cell number.

    Here is the pic of her hand wheel end. You can see it's solid. And needs a bit of cleaning up, too. :-( Missed that.

    Yes, beautiful. My friend beat me to it, whipped her money out faster than I did. I was too busy checking the machine out and drooling over it. VBG

    Miriam,

    It is treadle belt driven. That rod drives the shuttle. It connects the top main shaft to the bottom shuttle connecting rod.
