I hope everyone gives Mary a chance. She seems a little nervous, and she has very big shoes to fill. I think they are trying to appeal to the younger crowd. Think about it, if we don't attract the younger quilter, there won't be anyone left except us old foggies. Eventually we won't be able to quilt anymore, and then where would the world be?

It was my understanding that Liz was stepping back from tv and appearances to sped more time with her family and grandchildren. I agree it is not the same but what is? I do think that Mary will bring younger quilters to the show.

My PBS had a show on yesterday -- but the previous 2 weeks they had a pledge drive with 2 hours of Sewing With Nancy. I don't mind Mary -- though I really enjoyed Liz. In yesterday's show they said something about Liz's daughter getting married, but they did announce on a show last year that Liz was retiring.

I feel the same way!!!
I saw that with this weekend broadcast too. Like you guys, I am wondering and really hate to see this show change. The daughter is just fine but the show has always been one of a more detailed program and she does not bring that to the cutting table. Everyone always welcomes beginning quilters but I hope this is just an extended vacation or something for Liz and this program change is limited to a few weeks.

I too, miss Liz, but I am grateful that there are a few quilting shows on tv. There used to be a lot more. I can remember watching: Kaye Woods, Alex Anderson, Sharlene ???? and others that I can't remember right now. I like Mary on the show and she is funny and knows her craft.
