Johnny Depp is acting genius. I absolutely love him as the Mad Hatter. Genius. Captain Jack Sparrow? Again, genius. And I loved him as a sort of creepy Willy Wonka. I didn't know Dark Shadows was a show before, but just saw the trailer for the movie tonight. I told my husband we are definitely going to see it! If there's an unusual role to play, Johnny Depp is perfect for it!

Will watch anything with Johnny Depp or Daniel Day-Lewis in it. Can't agree with the post that he wrecks movies as the only soft part he played was the one where he was supposed to assassinate the VIP under threat that his child would be killed. That was just a poor choice of role and not really his acting. If an actor wants to keep working, I guess a few slip - ups are inevitable.

i fell in love with johnny depp in edward scissorhands! he has not destroyed any movies he has been in. the tourist was excellent, even tho' i am no fan of angelina jolie. sweeney todd was a little off the mark, but i don't consider that johnny's fault. i guess you either love him or don't. he is very malleable and doesn't play johnny depp in every movie like so many actors do (play themselves in every role). with the exception of rango, i would go to any movie he's in. looking forward to dark shadows!!!

I have to admit to a soft spot for Johnny Depp, I'll watch pretty much anything he's in.

Love Johnny Depp. Jack Sparrow is a classic character for sure. It amazes me that Depp can take on so many different characters and never look the same. Either I am not observant or he is a classic.... sometimes I have to read the credits to convince myself it is Depp

I may be too old for Johnny Depp, but I loved him in "Chocolate". That character could woo me easily and not need chocolate. Jack Sparrow on the other hand, just a character and I lost interest quickly when all the creepy weird stuff became the direction of the films. Opinion, just opinion.

He's so cute, who cares if it is a remake or not. I'm a Johnny lover!

Never watched Dark Shadows. Never got into the witchcraft or vampire stories but Johnny Depp is one of the actors I really enjoy.
