Why not buy the minimum amount that the shop will allow and give it a try? You could always include it as a pocket or embellishment if it is suitable and you are not too much out of pocket if it is a flop. Good luck with your efforts.

We use fusible fleece in our shop for the purses and bags we display as store samples. It comes in a couple of thicknesses, still thinner than quilt batting. The fusible is ironed to the outside fabric; it adds loft and stability to the bag. Additional stabilization is not necessary. You can quilt it if you like, but not necessary. I love this product and use it in all my personal bags as well.

Check Overstock.com as they have great prices on the Pellon fusible and the shipping is only $2.95. I have purchased a few times with no problems in the merchandise or the delivery

I've been using Pellon fusible fleece in my handbags - per instructions. I'm unable to find a bolt of it on Joann's website but the others are available. Would I be happy with something else or should I stick with fleece.
I have bought bolts at Joann's (in store). Our store usually has full bolts near the cutting counter.

FABRIC.COM has the fusible fleece. I just might try that on a quilt. Thanks for sharing.

I use the fusible interfacing with my quilted bags. There are different wgts of it. I just feel it and go with what feels right to me. My bags are layered....fabric, interfacing and batting. works great..
