Well, the good news is that my sewing room is back in workable condition. (New window, wall patching done, baseboards painted, new IKEA cabinet with doors for the books, and the layout got improved.)
The bad news is that DH's helper got a job (which is great news for him and we are HAPPY for him) and I have to take time off work to help rebuild a porch and balcony. My near future holds 4x4s instead of 4-patches. Oh well - it is important. So I'll get back to the quilt after this weekend when Pat has to go back to work.

Hello Martina just stopped by to say hello and see how things are going with you and your new sewing space and the hands of hope quilt for Kennedy. Kennedy has been doing well but Ginger has the flu so fingers are crossed that Kennedy dosent get it. Hope you are feeling better also werent you under the weather not to long ago???? Have a Blessed day and keep in touch. Teresa

Thanks for checking in Teresa. I do hope that Ginger gets better soon and that Kennedy doesn't catch it. The flu is not what that little girl needs right now. As for my sewing space - it is taking shape. As for my sewing time - I suggest you check out "MadQuilter's Asylum" in the PDA section - there are some pics about my current and pressing project since the fall weather is on the way and we need to stay dry.

Got 5 rows trimmed and sewn yesterday evening. My main iron died, so I have to buy a new one to press the rows - don't trust the replacement to do a good job. Then I'll post pics.
It is turning out prettier than I expected (and I knew it would be pretty).
Was a little worried about some of the larger hands fitting the size requirements but all of them trimmed down without me having to nip anyone's fingertips or slitting any wrists. hehehe
DH said that it is EXACTLY how he thought it would be.
