Trouble is Sewing!

Trouble is Sewing!
I took Joe's advice and downloaded the PDF (in color) on the website he gave me. I'm very visual and the pictures were great!
I had to go out and buy a dress for my daughter's wedding next month and all day long I kept thinking "I hope this bobbin thing works on Trouble"'
I started with the click clacking. Took the plate apart, cleaned it, wiggled the little springs and went to put it back when I noticed that the bobbin "finger" was in the wrong place. So I adjusted that. Put the plate back on and tried to sew. The thread broke . . . but it sewed longer before it broke this time. Progress!
Then I remember something Joe said about the bobbin itself. I took a close look at the bobbin that came with it and it was a bit rusted on the inside. Fortunately the machine came with a package of new bobbins. So I read the instruction book first this time and threaded a new bobbin with new thread. Threaded Trouble with new thread and tried sewing again. HA! It worked!
Trouble is happily sewing all over the place now. I can see how people fall in love with their little FW :-)

These little beauties just work and work.... but they are a little particular.... thread the needle from the right direction, put the bobbin in turning correctly... etc..... I love mine but she tells me when she's not happy. Then I check things out and she's back working like a trooper once again..... Enjoy your little 'trouble'...... she'll be your favorite in no time.

Great news! When I find a bobbin with a tiny bit of rust I use steel wool to buff the rust away. I found 2 extra bobbin cases for my 15-91 that were a tad rusty on the inside. Steel wool cleaned them right up, and then I coated the areas with a thin bit of sewing machine oil for storage. I saved the bobbin cases that way!
