The American Cancer Society has a catalog. I think its at tlcdirect.org. I wore their knit sleep hats, turbans and got a few nice scarves. The scarves should be cotton so they will stick to the skin.

The ones at the oncologist office where I went were not all that good. If her hair is just falling out, you don't have much time. Mine went in one afternoon!

Thanks for the great responses! I have sent PM's to some of you and really truly appreciate the generosity.
I forgot to mention in my first post that her right arm is handicapped, so tying is not an option. At least not after it is on her head.
The crocheted ones will be awesome Maria! I did make a few from the patterns I had seen links for and am trying to modify them so she can slide them on easier.

Headcovers.com has nice turbans, scarves, and hats, for people with hair loss. I've ordered from them, several times, for my MIL (who just likes to hide her hair). The quality seems to be very good and the prices are very reasonable.

When Mama had cancer she slept with a fleece lined crochet winter cap on. She got cold very easy. She jokingly called it her sleeping cap. She preferred fleece and flannel fabrics as cotton was too scratchy on her skin. Chemo in essence kills the nerve andings and when they start growing back it was very painful for her. Good Luck!

Use the softest fabric/yarn possible.......a snuggle quilt is helpful, too.

A while ago I was looking for some chemocaps to make for my 9-year old god-daughter. An internet search, and a number of PMs from members of this board solicited a number of patterns and ideas. I ended up making loads of these for both my god-daughter and loads of her chemo-mates (her term, not mine!). Most of these are easy to make and look great. Hope this helps! Mxxx
