Obw
I made this One Block Wonder just to see if I'd enjoy the process. I wasn't convinced so I dug through my Mom's stash and found what I considered to be not pretty fabric (It wasn't bad but what would you ever use it for in its original state).
I loved loved loved the process. I already have 2 more pieces of fabric I've bought to make my next OBW's. That was quilt #4.
Quilt #5 is from the book, Radiant Sunshine and Shadows - I named it West Tx Sunset. This is the one I initially had some fullness on - ripped out about 5 rows, re-squared my blocks, sewed em back together, my first mitered corners and LOVED how that worked out :-) Each completed block is about 2-1/2".... I love the way this quilt looks - it certainly has several flaws in it. I won't be making another with pieces this small for a while! LAQ'd by my mom - the back is in orange thread on the white on white backing... pretty cool if I have to say so myself :-)
Thanks all for looking.

Fantastic. I love these quilts and what they can do for a piece of fabric which is, as you said, "what would you use it for in it's original state. It's unbelievable how they turn out. I don't think I'd have been brave enough to tackle something like this for my 4th quilt. Congratulations. Is your mum also quilter?
Just received my book One-block Wonders by Maxine Rosenthal in yesterdays post. I already have my fabric. Just have a couple of other quilts to finish first.

I love your one block wonder quilt. It's amazing how you can get such a beautiful quilt from a gaudy fabric. I'm looking forward to making one eventually. And your 2nd quilt is amazing!!!! Such beautiful effect from the small squares. The colors are terrific. Thanks for sharing them.

I love your OBW. You are hooked now. Every time you go in a fabric shop, you'll be hunting for more of those right prints. I'm glad you've joined the rest of us OBW addicts. I'm just finishing one too. I also like the colors of your other quilt -Yummm!
