Wonderful idea and a great tutorial!!! I most always bring my flannel backing around to the front for the binding. I think this will give a "extra" touch to the quilt. Thank you so much!!

Thanks so much for the tute. I want to try this on my next quilt. I just had one question. You wrote that the binding material was 1" wide. Is that 2" fabric strip folded in half for 1" wide?

I think that works out as 1/4" seam, 1/4" on the back side and then approximately 1/2" left on the front to work the scallop into. That would be enough to cover the original seam line of sewing the binding on.

Do you cut on the bias or straight grain? I'm thinking bias may make it a bit easier to get that nice roll.
