Your first quilt is going to be one that you keep in your heart for a very long time. It's the base of everything else you will do. If your like me you will kringe when you see it a year from now, then marvel at how much you have come along after that. I have kept my very first one, more for sentimental value than anything else. Congrats on a great finish, and wishing you many more wonderful quilts to come! Welcome to the club!

This isn't my "first" quilt, just the first one I did alone! I started hand-quilting for other people years ago, and I usually buy quilt tops. I have made a one top that hasn't made it to the quilting stage yet but have been machine quilting for a few months. This is the only one I've cut, pieced, quilted and bind-ed! I still don't love the top-making process (and will trade quilting for tops!!) but at least I can say "I did it!"
