LOL....I opened this thread to answer the title question. YES, you can have too many pin cushions. Two is too many. I like my pins in a tin, not a cushion. I do keep one beside the sewing machine after knocking the tin off too many times. I really don't like pin cushions. They make me nervous.

Looks like some of you are collecting my share for me. Keep up the good work! I have three or four extras right now I am trying to rehome.

Those are precious! I'm just starting to get into pincushions. Where are good places to get them? I'd like to make one from a pretty teeny-ish tea cup.

there are lots of sites with free pincushion patterns. just do a google search. one that i can readily think of is tipnut.com.

Haha, I just had someone call me a Pincushion Queen! Well... they're cute. Oh, and here's a batch of my latest cuteness. Little felted wool balls (about 1-1/2" in diameter). Who can resist?

I love these pincushions but would never, ever use them! My cats would have them on the floor, possibly getting pins in their little paws... I use advertising magnets all over the place.
