IMHO, I like the spiral for the border. I really like the butterfly pattern for the center. Your quilt is terriffic.

EDIT: I would not sew the flange down. It adds a nice demension to the top.

I hope you don't mind my asking, but where did you find the template for the butterflies (I think it is the spiral that you refer to). I love how they seem to be gently flying around from place to place!
