What exactly did you use on the wood. It looks vert good. we just purchased a second treadle and the wood looks to be in about the same condition yours started out in.

My first machine quilted quilt was done on a treadle. I find that I have excellent control of the start and stop points, more than an electric that does not seem to stop exactly where I want it to. I did not have a walking foot, but had pinned it well. I was and am very proud of the quilting. I really enjoy quilting on a treadle.

What a beauty!!! I can still remember my grandmother had a vintage machine...I was only a child. I wish I knew enough to say "Grandma save it for me because when I grow up I am going to be a quilter and would love to have your machine and think of you every time I use it". Unfortunately my sweet mother didn't even think to ask for it herself and she was a sewing person. Oh well.

Blackberry,
Beautiful machine! I have her twin sister. She lives in a Franken treadle, Singer coffin top and Elgin treadle irons. You can see my Red Eye here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...130994-39.html post #385

Great job!!! An outstanding restoration. I know how hard the job is as I am in the midst of restoring an 1887 Singer.
