Do be careful of the amount of licorice you eat; some persons may have a heart condition and licorice has been known to affect the hearts of those people. (Ask me how I know!)

It is still available through the Vermont country store, usually at christmas time. It comes in a BAG.

When I was a child my Dad and I shared the licorice that you are talking about. I think he got it in a small coal bucket like pail with the little hammer. I have seen the candy in Cracker Barrel but it seems to me that it is just like a hard candy. What dad use to get was truely hard just like a chunk of coal. Instead of breaking off in pieces it broke in shale like slivers. If it aint black it aint Licorice where I'm conserned!! LOL

I remember it was always out at xmas time for bad little boys and girls. I didn't know it was liquice just knew no one wanted to get it. Maybe it wouldn't of been so bad after all knowing that now, LOL. I missed out.

Australian licorice is sooooo good. WAlgreen's carries it. If you live in WA state, check Bartell's Drug Store. You'll be delighted with the quality. Watch out! It's addicting!

Vermont country store has it. Check out their website. It is shown in their christmas catalog.
