It cleaned up very well. I bought a mat smoother several years ago and I use that every so often. I don't cut batting so never had that happen.

My DGD saw the turtle pincushion in a store with her mom when she was four. She was so happy when she gave it to me. It's one of my most treasured memory processions.

I've had this happen but not so badly :-( I've almost decided I will cut my batting in the future with a long pair of shears. Oh your poor cutting mat! Looks like it has a disease :-/

I use a magic eraser on mine, could not believe the dirt it come up with......
but let me warn everyone not to use acetone....that removed part of my gride markers....that was very dumb on my part and don't iron on it either....that was more dumber....
