Yes, you can use it; I have several quilts made in the l985---l990's and they wash up beautiful. Some are
hand quilted and some are machine quilted.

I have used it for baby quilts, suppose to hold up well for frequent washings.

I have always used cotton batting (Warm) until recently and I used poly batting for a quilt I just finished. I used the cotton/poly combo Dream Poly. I don't like the quilt near as well as I do with the cotton batting. So I won't use it again.

I use it all the time because it's what we have available here in Poland.

I used it several times on a wall quilt since I was given it for free...YUK...I hated working with it! I also did not like the feel. I like the flat feel of Warm and Natural and its so much easier to FMQ on your sewing machine.

Of course, I use it all the time for Project Linus quilts and family huggles that are going to get a lot of laundering. I keep my pennies and cotton batting for special quilts, although for a lot of general purpose quilts I use Curtain interlining so much cheaper and great quality.

I've used poly for years and had no problems with many washings, but like the cotton batting better. You might use up the poly on smaller items such as wall hangings, place mats, decorative pillows, pincushions, etc. I just could not bring myself to just toss the poly batting. Like the others say, it's a matter of preference.

For wall hangings and runners I think something like Warm & natural works. For quilts I use polyester - and have been happy with it.

Thank you for all of your thoughts on batting, am nearly done machine quilting this one, I SID in the centre, but along the borders I have freee motioned. I bought the bamboo/cotton batting and have liked sewing with it. Last winter, I did a quilt from old vintage ( that is what I call it) bedding and pillow cases, used the polyester batting and it is poofier, well suited for the D9P that I used. I am going to try after I clean my camera out to post some pictures, I did like doing that.
