I would echo stitch inside the stars, put hearts in the little diamonds between the stars, and play in the big white areas with wreaths or celtic knots or words or stippling, or some of each!

I agree with quiltE......There is a lot of color action in your quilt. sid in stars and a heart in the plain white areas would be a great finishing touch.

I would SID along the sashings and do a medium size grid, about 1 inch, in the white blocks. Since the quilt is rectangular, I wouldn't add curves. However, I really like the look of grids and find it is easier on a DSM than feathers or wreaths.

I too would stitch around the inside of each star, and I would also stitch around the inside of each square block. This would have the same design on the back that is on the front, only not in color. I often do many of my quilts like this, so they seem reversible. Then perhaps do some stippling in the center of each square. Maybe just echo the squares, that way it doesnt look too busy. I do not do feathers, and do not have a long arm, so I just have to rely on straight stitch in the ditch, some free motion and plain stippling. Whatever you do will look beautiful.

Love your quilt! Definitely SITD, but I'd handquilt a different design in each group of 2 white squares. A heart, a few different flowers, the date of their wedding, their names, a wreath, a sun & moon, etc. You can find lots of things to quilt in those blocks, and that would make it extra special for the happy couple. If you don't want to handquilt then I'd stick with something easy, like a large heart in each of the 4 block squares.
