I bought a pattern for a spiral burst bargello. I am almost scared to start on it - I think it is 27 fabrics. All i can think of is to pick my favorite fabric and keep adding fabrics one at a time. How did you make your choices?
I knew that I wanted yellow, green and purple and I only needed 11 fabrics...so 3, 3, 3, with two fillers. I just kept playing with the layout at two different quilt shops!! A friend was with me and I also received lots of input from the employees. I laid out fabric and changed my mind lots of times before my final selection. I just went on gut instinct of what looked good to me. It was a design process, I guess. However, my friend was the one who encouraged me to put the pink in there and I am glad she did. I think it really adds to the effect. Hope this helps!!

I usually don't care for bargellos quilts, but this one is gorgeous! I would definitely love having those fabrics.

It's big and beautiful! I like the reflection in the mirror on the wall, it looks like a little wall hanging version of your gorgeous quilt.

I have to tell you that I am not a fan of Bargello BUT that is one of the most beautiful quilts I have ever seen! The colors are fantastic! Great job! Congratulations!
