I called around to sign shops and asked for scraps. Some I paid for, lots were free. Took a couple months to get enough but I am nearly finished and my daughter is waiting for my left overs.

One individual shop owner said she would order some sheets for me next time she orders and even cut them to a manageable size for me. I got loads of scraps from her for 10.

My sewing room never looked so good. I have 2 old pattern cabinets from a fabric store, they have metal rollers and are 24 inches deep, even have the dividers still in them. I have my boards 2 deep front to back and I just roll out the drawer color I want. WONDERFUL!!! After those 8 drawers were filled I have 2 shelves filled on a bookshelf. Sure beats heavy plastic containers having to be lifted and plowed through and then lifted back to the shelf.

I really like the boards from the dollar store and make your own but I did go on and order comic boards, acid free, the other day and only paid $11 on sale for 100, bought 300 good deal and all set for me to start.....

Your stash looks great folded and on display that way. Thanks for the tips too!!

I am guessing you live in Alaska by your name? I lived in Anchorage for 14 yrs. and we all loved it.

Ms. nygal, Did you ever find Quilt shows in your area? Was planning on a trip to Selkirk this color season but health issues with my husband put us on hold till next year. Bill & I never lived in Alaska but were lucky to have spent 3 months in 2010 """"""Loved every minute of it & then some"""""".
    Take care

Are you sure these pics were taken in your quilting room? Looks more like the shelves in a fabric store! LOVE your fabric selection and how wonderful to be able to stand back and see exactly what you have in stock. Thanks for the lesson in folding fabric. Will be glad when I finally get shelves in my room so I can get the fabric out of the clear plastic bins. Argh!
