Go USA and every other nation, too!
Once I get the next couple of weeks over I will be in PC mode again! One of the perks of having company for an extended time period is that my sewing room is clean--sorted about as good as it ever will be. I actually have counter spaces! Got the lawn mowed today, floors mopped and want to get some baking done tonight. Tomorrow is get the groceries day and final cleaning touch ups.

Go Oksewglad, my sewing room is a mess including my box for PC fabrics. What I end up searching for is always in the bottom of the box...lol!! Working on more than one project at a time ends up making a big mess. And more to come so I am not getting excited to clean much yet...

My friend came and put the binding on the Chains of Love and Deer Quilt, so they are done. Finished designing the Gone Fishing (96x110) and its across the road at the LA girls, should be ready by Friday although they have Bible Summer School this week. It tells story of an Iowan fisherman, who stays in a cabin (or the ladies) while men fish, seeing the eagles fly in square in a square, the Iowa Star or broken canoes on the side with Iowa brush...trees and bushes around the water and the foot is Bear Paws showing the tackle, reaching from the sea and sea turtles to the great tall mountains.

Friend says she can do a lot of quilting when someone cooks for her; wish she was closer to share our garden and my cooking for more than a short visit. Enjoy your family, Okksewglad, and hold every moment close to your heart...so precious to have family to share memories with...

It's been so hot here that I've stayed in and got some sewing done. Sorta cleaned my sewing room. Actually just moved some piles of fabric around.
Just noticed how large this quilt is after laying out the first 60 blocks. I'm starting to think like some of you and may make 2 smaller quilts.
Going on another FART tomorrow. Just to look, not to buy anything. Yea, right! It will be fun just to get away for the day.

Enjoy your day, JanRN, on the FART...

I looked at the book again, JanRN, and the flying geese do go across the block in a straight line...I did the flying geese the English way again, like Alex Alexander and Ricky did in their video on You tube....in a 'book' style rotary cutting both strips. Again, its personal preferences for the design of each block.

Love the combined block page...everyone will have a beautiful quilt from those blocks!!

Let's have a virtual sewing room cleaning bee. Head on over to QNS's so she can keep sewing up those pretty pretty blocks. Who's next for a cleanup? mirabelle bless her heart has done it on her own, and Me--well sorta. We can talk weather, fresh garden produce--etal. Oh but wait until after next week. I'll be enjoying the "Sibs and SibsIL" until then.

Meanwhile I got my redneck refrigerators humming. I froze 2 qt containers of water and placed 4 of them in a styrofoam cooler with fresh fruits and veggies. That leaves space in the fridge for the eggs, cheese, meat and milk.

There must be something in the air. I've gone through my room and have identified fabrics for disposal, organized some of them into strips for scrap blocks, found a couple UFO's I forgot about and just generally prepared to be ready for the next project that grabs my passion. Until then, I'll keep up with PC and keep working to finish the tops that I have in various stages and learn the QAYG method so I don't get such a backlog of tops. My birthday month is September and my LQS has a rewards program that will give me a 20% discount on one shopping trip so you can be sure I'm planning and making room for what I put in my bag that day.

If you go to the home page of this site, you will see that there is also a shop hop that weekend. Can you think of a better place to be?

Three tubs if batiks? What will you plan to do with them?

If I travel by the virtual RV, that party is where I'd go...with gas prices increasing...reality says no way. New Wal Mart is opening here next Wednesday, August 15th. A 24-hour grocery and department store.

I have worked fabric off wall storage into projects on the floor space...somewhere I will fit in the tubs of Batiks...and use in projects in the future.

Sad news, the guineas have escape the property lines through the fence to the North, we think, cause one little bird had trouble getting through the fence, 3x4 welded wire on a cattle panel...and was crying s distressed call that we heard. We did rescue the one guinea, but no sign of the other 11 tonight. Grapes on the North fence are ripe, need to pick them tomorrow. We feed the guineas for five weeks, but they do not seem to have a homing device to come back to roost here.
