for my mom's friend. I thought I'd like it more than I do, I just don't know why. The fabrics (the paisley and backing) are the new M'Liss fabrics from Jo-anns.

It's the first time I've quilted in a line like that (on the paisley part). I usually echo quilt. I had to mark it because my 'bar' wouldn't work with my even-feed foot :( :(

Question: when you start and stop the row, do you use the locking stitch or cut and pull the ends back through? I wasn't sure so I used the locking stitch.

Is it worthy of giving? (I've pieced the second one.)

Looks good to me. I think it is worth giving!!

As for the starting and stopping. this is what I do.......to start, I pull the bobbing thread up through the fabric. While holding both top and bottom threads, I hand turn my needle two or three times in the same hole. That should lock in the beginning stitch........when I stop, I do the same thing in the last stitch, hand turn the needle a couple times in the same hole.....then clip......

Thats how I do it and I haven't had problems with stitches coming out.
