I'm on the net surfing the web for a casserole carrier and came across this one. I understand the two D rings. However, the strap is how wide? It looks like it is about 2" or 21/2" wide? I take it that the strap is sewed down at corners and of course the length is longer! I need to make one of these. I have the material and insul-bright stuff. will be looking for response from you or anyone else. I'm new to the site so hopefully I'm doing this right.

Hi Maycharlie...
On page five of this thread there is a free download of this pattern. By the way, welcome to the quilting board.

They are great have made many of them for gifts. In fact see the picture of my kitty she is sitting on one

I make my outside fabric 28" square, the inside insul-Brit, I make 21" square and I also use double sided quilted fabric and cut that 21" square, makes nicer corners. This is my own figures for the way I make them. You can make them any way you like.

I've been making these for a few weeks for Christmas presents. Mine does not use D rings but a fabric loop which I think I like better. I have a pdf file on the instructions but I dont know if I can attach a pdf file to a message on this forum or not. My pattern calls for 26" square. That is ample for a full sized pie dish and a 3 qt. casserole. A smaller version can be found here: http://northerngirlboutique.blogspot...ft-giving.html
The difference in instructions for the larger one is 7/8 yrd of each fabric cut into 26" square. The small loops are made from a 6 x 7" piece of fabric and the larger handle from an 8 x 20". But all the other instructions are the same.
