Wow, I can't believe all the comments! Thank you so much everyone for all your encouragement. I will definitely have to keep trying this design. Maybe I just looked at it to long. I put a binding on it today and I still can't find the beauty in it. I have quite a few other quilt tops with applique in them that I have been putting off doing until I can learn some of these fillers. I hope I will be happier with the next one.

Are you kidding! It looks beautiful, good choice of a quilt to use for the first time trying something. Your quilting made that quilt pop and I think the pattern of the quilt helped your quilting. Very nice.

I don't know what McTavishing is and I am not a machine quilter, but it looks pretty good to me. I read somewhere, maybe here, that if you give your quilt to a non-quilter they will never know the difference. I notice all my mistakes, never had anyone else do so. Keep improving for your own satisfaction, but don't beat yourself up.

OHHHH! I love the colors. Which pattern is it? I really do like stars--guess I don't see many errors, but maybe not sure what I am looking for....I can give you my address if you REALLY don't like it...lol...

I think it looks great! Keep practicing but do it on paper. I tell my students to put paper into a plastic sleeve protector and use a dry erase marker. Find a pattern for the Mctavishing, enlarge it and stick it in the sleeve. Your doodles become your designs. Good luck. It's a beautiful quilt!
