Welcome aboard the Board from Vermont! I've been meaning to try a floorquilt as a sample for the shop I work in, but haven't gotten around to it! Thanks for the reminder! Post some photos - we LOVE show and tell!

Hi! everyone. Post #14 on page 2 of this thread has a couple of pictures. I know what you mean paulswalia about time. It takes me nearly two weeks to make a floorquilt from scratch-to-finish, working 2-4 hours each day. It is a short amount of time compared to traditional quilts, but it is worth the time. These look amazing in quilting rooms. Often people match them with the room's color scheme and decor, and/or mimick a wall hanging, bed quilt, ect. Either way--no more boring floors. Happy Quilting!

What is the foundation for the floor quilts? Canvas?

Yes, a very heavy-weight 12 oz. or heavier cotton duck is preferred. The canvas must first be treated with a gesso primer before the treated fabrics are pieced onto it with a decoupage medium. Thanks for the compliments! everyone
