My middle daughter used to go to school at U-Dub, and then lived in Seattle for a few years. I loved to visit the market when we went to see her or were on our way to Friday Harbor - another FABULOUS place to be.

I love Pike's Place Market! I live in Tacoma, so it's not a terrible drive. I believe there is a quilt shop in that area too. Sounds like you had a fun day!

barking-rabbit, my husband also says I cut him off when we walk places! Maybe we're kin!! Pike's Place is just a wonderful, one of a kind place and well worth a visit, and going alone lets you meander wherever you want. I miss being able to go there. Glad you could enjoy it.

Sounds like a fun day. Those are the kinds of things I prefer to do by myself, because then I am in total control.

Most of the marketplace construction is finished with great new additional bathrooms and elevators.
It was a nice day. I had a crumpet and jam and a gyro. I brought home mini doughnuts, cookies, bagels, spices, pasta and a grab bag of fabric and a new quilt pattern. The places I usually eat at were very busy, chiwder house and the pirshoky shop. I collected some pressed pennies for a little friend too. As always on the way home, I tell myself, "I should do this more often". There was construction at the waterfront, so driving was a little different but there were no problems or scary moments.
Only 35 miles away? Heck, I live on the other side of Puget Sound & it takes me more than 35 miles to get to town (to Bremerton) or the mall (in Silverdale) on this side. You should go anytime you feel like it. Of course, the traffic downtown Seattle wouldn't be my idea of a fun day often but I should wouldn't let those miles stop me. Ha.
Yes, the mkt. is a really fun place to visit.

The name is undercover quilts. They do online too. If you are standing with the flying fish to your right, take a left then quick right then down stairs. Rocky mountain chocolate factory is in the same hallway.
