When I combine my scraps there is a lot of yardage that I paid for. Looking at scraps as yardage is key.

I have a huge stash of fabric like all of you lol....but what I always migrate to, are my scraps. I love to dump it all on the floor in my studio (I have to block my Teddy (dog)) and just sort through them and get inspired with the shapes. I usually just start joining and when I run out of areas, I just start a new section and I keep making sections of fabric. Then I take a look at all the sections and figure out how to join those. Usually I have to square the sections, and that makes a new shape also. Then I will add a regular block or a scrap one and so on. Sometimes I plan a design, like when I did the starway to heaven.

It started out as mindless until I got really inspired. There are many pages to this project but with lots of information if you want to start your scrap quilt you can see how I started mine....

What a wonderful quilt! Just to think you saved all that great fabric from the fabric graveyard!

I love this! It will remind you of the different projects in the past, and make a colorful addition wherever it lives!

Wow! That is fantastic! I hope that with all the scraps I am saving, I can do something similarly creative! What a great inspiration!
