I use the blue painters tape. It leaves no residue and it easy to see no matter the color of the fabric

I have removed mine four times so far and they stick right back. No residue at all. The whole strip doesn't have to be pressed down just the top end, it isn't going anywhere.

I will give this a try. I use painter's tape to mark the lines on my rulers so I can cut all my strips the same size.
