of course i buy fabric just because...it's pretty! i figure that one day when i am ready to use it, i could find some coordinating fabric to go with it. or, i could make a market bag by using two coordinating fat quarters.

I am very much into collections of lines so I tend to buy a yard of each. I'm not good at picking out coordinating fabric so I let the designers do it for me. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed at all I have that it's just easier to buy kits so I have everything (including pattern) I need.

Guilty! I started liking I Spy quilts and collecting interesting FQ's. Then I joined some swaps, and needed a yard of each, and why not get an extra 1/2 to allow for shrinkage and cutting errors. Then $ was pretty tight, so I'd buy a few yards to stock up whenever there was a Really good clearance sale. Good thing I like scrappy quilts! i was never able to find something when I needed to, which led to the stocking up. Now fabrics are available online if my LQS doesn't have them so while I may occasionally buy some focus fabric I don't feel I need to get coordinates. Besides- I can just shop the stash!
