New York Beauty Quilt Along Begins Oct 1st
#141
I've been shopping and have bought some gorgeous batiks I can't wait to get started. I'm very excited. The bonus was finding the most amazing quilt shop near my work (hooray) Logans Patchwork in Sydney. This weekend is our labour day long weekend so I hope to make a good start.

Quiltaddidiction how fun to find a new store! Lucky you for the labour day weekend! I love love weekends and wish every weekend was long, of course if I had three days off every weekend I probably eventually want four days off to recover from the three days LOL.

I would love to do this. I have never done one of these so please keep up with me. I have the patterns printed already from before. does it matter which ones we make first.? does it have to go in order?
thank you

Welcome Dawn. You can go as slow or as fast as you want. We'll be going in order starting with Block 0 and Block 1 for the first month October and taking a break in Decemeber as the holiday's get busy enough. But there are no quilt along police to stop you from doing other blocks :-)

I was looking for a block of the month type of thing, and sort of wanted to start at the beginning of a session. This is a fabulous block and always thought it was sort of challenging. And never attempted to try it. I understand you will be making 2 blocks per month X 4 = 8 blocks total. Now this sounds like a bed size quilt to be made, can a person downsize to a wall hanging using these same blocks and get the same effect? I would like to join in and try it, but would probably be making a wall hanging---OK? And prayer that I get that curve to lay staight.

I am really really thinking about this. I love paper piecing. I am doing the Carol Doak 50 paper pieced star group we have about 10 more to go.. I was poking around the website. I love all of the zodiac stars on there too. A NYB is on my bucket list. I am thinking of using my stash. I have a few days to make up my mind???????
