Default First quilt off the longarm

After months of practicing on muslin, I finally loaded and quilted a panel on the longarm. I'll get better with practice, but I'm very happy with my first attempt!

Good going! You have the first one under your belt, now you will gain more and more confidence with each quilt you do.

Yeah for you. You do a lot better job on a real quilt than on practice. We tend to try harder. Your meandering is very curvatious, very nice. You will find you will get faster and more confident. I can not tell you when I stopped standing in front of machine thinking "I hope I don't ruin this." Like everything else it is a process in learning. I am so thrilled for you.

Your stipples look good: nice and even. You have the right attitude, too. After taking my first quilt off the longarm, I thought, geez, I really need to rethink whether I can do this. Of course, I practiced some more and still, two years later, I'm learning stuff all the time--can't tell you how many youtube videos, quilt websites, winning quilts I've looked at trying to learn more and to get some ideas. Just keep going! And have fun, of course!

That's a cute panel you chose for your practice piece ... Someone will love it to tatters! Your practice has already paid off - it looks great. Goforth and quilt now!!

I hope to get brave one day. I got my frame together and the sewing machine sitting there but I have yet to load the first fabric. practise or other. I need to get brave and just do it.
