Default UPDATE: Quilt Show...Go or stay home & quilt!

Well ladies, I was there when the doors opened this morning at the Georgia Quilt Show, and I must say I'm glad I went. It was a really pleasant, relaxing morning. I took my time with the vendors, letting everyone demonstrate their wares, trying some of the longarms and just generally enjoying myself. The quilts were beautiful and part way through I really did just want to leave & go quilt! My only purchases were a Bloc Loc ruler, a spool of Presencia thread and a jellyroll of gorgeous silks from a company called Stitch in Time. I have amazing powers of self denial! Thanks to all of you who encouraged me to go. I may be most proud of successfully navigating Atlanta morning rush traffic!

I am one of the two who said to stay home. I'm glad you didn't listen to me. Getting the Presencia thread was worth the trip itself. And the jellyroll sounds delicious!!! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.

For me going to quilt shows help get me inspired to do more, to do better, andto try new things. I also like to look at the new 'tools' that I probably don't need but are nice to see.

Once home I really get into my quilting much more easily.

I considered the same thing myself. I'm some 2 hours or so away and then walking and then driving back. With the bad ankle, back and hip I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

So instead I'm going to Augusta with a friend that is getting back into sewing. Then we'll eat lunch and just have a good time. then home for more quilting.

    Hugs!

So very happy that you decided to go and had fun. It's just to easy to stay home. I was watching "Sunday Morning on CBS" and there was a segment on how we are becoming less social and more recluse. Sometimes it is a real effort for me to leave the house and I really do like people. The computer has us home more than we realize.

Oh well, so glad you had fun! Thought you might.
