I have a clover one bought on the late 90s, it is really sturdy and rotates smoothly. The layers are joined in such a way that it feels really solid.

I bought a larger size Creative Grids rotating mat but the top layer only just sits on the base and a 3mm high black disc - the layers separate so easily - really poor design & build - please avoid at all costs.

It is a shame because I love Creative Grids Rulers.

Actually, it is the 8x8 inch mat that is on sale. That would be a good size for small projects but iI think I will need a larger one for most things.

If anyone is still interested, the one that BellaBoo pictured on the first page of this post is still available from The Quilt House.
    http://www.quilthouse.net/productsSpinner.htm

She was at the Grand Rapids AQS show and I was surprized because I thought that these were no longer available. This is the one I have and like BellaBoo, I purchased my in the 90's.
I also have a small one from Beba

which is very convenient. If she is at a show near you, her show prices are great!
