Congrats on a great first block! Paper piecing is fun and it almost guarantees perfect piecing each time. Your colors are lovely...please post a photo when your quilt is complete.

That block will make a gorgeous quilt. Good job, and welcome.

I'm learning paper piecing and loving it. It's so precise. I love that about it. It's great that your friend is helping you so much by cutting the pieces of fabric to help you. She's really wants you to quilt badly. Keep going. Sew those pieces together and finish the block. You'll be happy when it's done. Really pretty fabric you chose. And I like the pattern also. So, I'm learning paper piecing just like you. It's different than regular piecing. It twisted my brain until my mentor sent me a DVD on how to paper piece. Then I bought a 1/2" ruler and picked up a postcard and now it's so much easier with the tips I have learned. I taped the postcard to the ruler like Carol Doak's does in her DVD and I'm really working faster that way. It's actually fun when you get the tips and tricks to it. Good luck! Check out Carol Doak's. She might have something on YouTube that would help you. Some tips or tricks or something.

That was my first paper pieced block too! Not my first quilting block though-your friend must be a really good teacher, and you are a natural! For anyone who is interested on Craftsy, Peggy Martin teaches this and many others in her strip paper piecing class. She is a really good teacher and the class is definitely worth it!!

Thanks for all the kind comments! It's a lot of fun! I was a bit apprehensive about quilting at first because I know there's a lot of measuring and precesion involved. Both of which are not my strong suit. But yes my friend is a really good teacher and very eager to show me. She had everything planned out and it was wonderful! I need to read the instructions cut some more strips and maybe work on the next block. If not just get the prep work for our next sewing date. she asked me if I minded doing a holiday quilt and the. Showed me some stuff and picked out that after I ok'ed it. I think their lovely too. It can go with the dark green around the pin wheel too. But I like how the cream makes it pop. Might make some blocks with the green and some with the cream.
