Default scrappy quilts using 2.5" squares

I am looking for any ideas on great patterns to use all the 2.5" squares that I have cut out of my stash. I made several quilts each year for charity and so I would love some really cool ideas but also simple is good. Thanks so much in advance for any ideas.

This is a nice quilt...not sure of the size of squares but I am sure you could use 2.5

How about sorting the squares by color and doing a trip around the world?
I've also seen some great "charm" quilts - essentially a 8 x 8 square with a solid color sashing/framing.

Ooooh, I was just looking through my box of 2.5" squares. This is what I am planning on doing with them. (I think). I am planning on 39 across and 49 down, with borders, possibly 2 or 3 borders. I will wait and see what it turns out like before I decide on the borders. I need to get my black and white squares cut out first, before I can start on it. Although, I guess I can start on it before I cut out the black and white sqaures.

Have you looked at Quiltville? Lots of scrappy quilts. The links to free patterns are down a ways on the right.

If you have enough sets of five, pick a good neutral like Kona White or even Kona Black, and make a bunch of 9 patch units and separate them with sashing.

My fav is Scrappy Trip Around the World. Just the best pattern for 2 1/" strips. It's on Quiltville site. I've made two. One was scrappy the other controlled - love them both.

I took a picture of this quilt in a magazine I was reading at the Dr. office. I think it is made with strips but I don't know why you couldn't do it with 2 1/2" squares. I think it would be darling as a scrappy quilt!
