I can understand the delay in getting around to binding.

I am very proud of myself at the moment - I finally got the bindings on four items this past week! A king size quilt, two king size pillow shams, and a baby quilt.

I think there should be a badge for effort there ;-)

I feel for ya I have two right now that I have to bind and a third one fixing to be ready to bind,
it's not that I hate doing it it's that I'm just so slow at getting around to doing it.

I see binding a quilt the same thing as putting a hem on a dress I make. It finishes the project and then you have a feeling of accomplisment. I do sew the binding to the front and then do the hand work while watching TV or a movie with the DH in the evenings (or when he is watching sports-I can get more of the sewing done because I don't have to pay as much attention to them.)

    Hi Jeanne,

Do you know any other quilters? Maybe you could trade quilt chores, they would do your bindings and you would do something quilty for them that they like to do.

I enjoy doing the binding, like some of you, good excuse to avoid housework! Binding is something to do in the evenings while watching TV. If I don't keep my hands busy, I fall asleep. I almost never see the end of movies.

I think we should start a "Binding Procrasters Club". Sounds like there would be a lot of charter members from this board group, and I would be one of the first to join
