I was talking to my local dealer and they told me that the 7700 was going to be being discontinued since the 8900 is out so you may be able to find a good deal on one. They also told me that there is an 8200 out but that they won't carry it until they can no longer get the 7700 because it is in between the 6600 and the 7700 as far as features.

I currently have the 6600 and the 11000 and was thinking about trading my 6600 for the 8900 but my dealer is offering me such a great deal that I am trading my 11000 (that I bought used) for a 12000 and keeping my 6600, which I LOVE

I just bought a MC JANOME 8900 QCP on October 29. It is a new model and while I haven't sewed on it to make anything, just practicing, I rreally like it. I got a good deal on it. So far, it hasn't been too difficult to use, with the book in front of me. Going to make a couple of dresses for my great-grandaughter, who is three. Then maybe start on some quilting.

I have had the 7700 for more than 2 years and totally love how it runs and works!! The knee-lift is one of my favorite things I use ALL the time to free my hands up as I quilt. My friend has a shop and sells Janome. She told me that the Horizon 7700 is going to be sold as an online machine only in the near future. I don't know exactly what that means. She has the new model that will take the place of the current Horizon in her shop. It has a few, very few, updates and improvements on it. It is not the one with the embroidery also! But it has many more stitch choices.I think she is selling the 7700 for $2300, and the new model more in the $3000 dollar range (I can't remember exactly).
I couldn't say enough about the performance of my Horizon! Please take all the classes offered if you buy one, it will open the world up to you as you learn to sew on the machine.

Just over a couple months ago, I traded my Babylock Ellegante to the Janome MC1200. So far, I like it, but working is overrated and take away my quilting time...hopefully when the Christmas rush is over at Costco, I'll get to really play with it. I have embroidered 72 towels on it and they turned out perfect. The Janome rep for Canada is supposed to be coming here, so hopefully, I'll get some time with her when she does.

Here is the link for the Horizon group. You can get a lot of good information there. Just sign up and then you can access the data files with tons of info.

This might be a stupid question, but because I'm me, I'll ask it anyway......I realize there are yahoo groups and stuff out there, but would it be something to think about for just this board members to start a Janome group? just askin

I traded my 6600 for the 7700 a couple of years ago. I love this machine. I have not had any problems with it at all. Yes it is being discontinued which is great for anyone wanting a new machine since most dealers offer them at reduced prices right now. Hope you get the chance to enjoy this machine

I was told a long time ago that a piece of denal floss works well in getting bits out of the tension discs. I use it regularly when I clean and oil my machines (like Glide the best).

You will love this machine. I have had mine about a year. I will say if where you are buying it offers classes, take
them, this machine does just about everything.
