How do you see down a Dresden?

Do you want the stitch to stick out or blend in ? If you want it to stick out and show you could use a contrating color- so if the blades are darker in color use a white if they are a lighter color use black - if you want the thread to blend in do the opposite of what I just said - if the blades are a lighter color try a lighter gray or white - if they are dark use a darker gray , black or tan

there are two ways: if it the rounded edges you can hand/machine applique onto background block or as Eleanor Burns has demonstrated in her DB book, use fusible lightweight interfacing sew it on, flip out and iron onto background, but if I remember correctly, she also h/m app down.....I guess you could do that with the pointed tips too, but simply sew the interfacing in a circle inside those tips......doesn't Kay Wood have a way to do them too? I, myself have made two and both times have machine app with invible thread........maybe one day will try EB's method.....
