The hardest quilt I had to part with was a Dresden plate in bright/medium blues from the Quilt in a Day pattern, it was gorgeous and some of my best work. However, since it was a family reunion quilt, family members had sent fabric for the quilt and it gets raffled off at our bi-annual family reunions. Even my fussy brother, who incidentally won the quilt, told me it was my best work ever and I would be hard pressed to top it. I hope to make him eat those words sometime in the futue, but he was so happy with it I got several pictures of the quilt on his bed, guess he liked it.

What a beauty this one is. Yes there are some quilts that I fall in love with. I do let them go with words of love to the reciever.

Just look at it this way. You have made many people happy by making this quilt. First you made someone happy when you bought the fabric (you and the shop owner). Then you had a blast making the quilt. Then you made the person who bought it from you very happy to have a great gift to give. Then the receiver is happy with receiving the beautiful quilt. And lastly, you're happy you have received the money to go back to the fabric shop to begin the happy cycle again..

That is a gorgeous quilt. Congratulations on making so many people happy!

Beautifull quilt, love the mauve, blue and green with just a hint of dusty pink.

I would find it very hard to part with, maybe you could insist on "visiting rights".

It's gorgeous!!! No wonder you are having a problem letting that one go.
I am that way with certain quilts. Most of the time, I can let them go just fine. It makes me happy to get rid of them. More room to keep sewing that way. I'm running out of room to keep it all.

Beautiful quilt - made in love and given in love to a couple in love. What quilting is about but it would be hard to let that one go. You did a beautiful job.
