Hi, for the first table runner, please look at my reply to Brenda K. the second one is actually the pineaple pattern, (kind of like a log cabin). It's a spinoff this tutorial for placemats: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14saknOwxik
I started out with a ten inch square, cut one inch off of each corner and then follow her directions. It's very easy.
My borders are 1.5 inches wide.
