Although I have no idea how expensive the Janomes are, I have two machines, straight stitch only that have knee lifts and I never use either one. I have a sew steady table custom made for my Juki TL98QE. I would imagine they are cheaper.

I have a Janome 7700 and just bought a SewEzi table. At first I thought the knee lift would not work but then I adjusted the knee lift to move it to the left as far as it will go. That gave me ample clearance to move it without hitting the leg. If your knee lift doesn't adjust I wonder if you could buy one that does?

What is a knee lift for?
I have a Viking Sapphire with auto lift and lower of the foot when starting and stopping. I love it. When you stop sewing the foot lifts just a little so you can turn or add another fabric piece. Then it lowers the foot when you start sewing. This works in needle down mode.
If I need to lift the foot higher there is a button to push.

Hi all,
Just thought I'd update you on the saga and thank you for your help. SewEzi agreed to refund the price of the table as well as the shipping charges. I was happy to resolve this situation with the agent.
