    Default Union Jack Cushions

Just finished the last of the Cushions for Christmas presents. Some of the cushions are lying on their side, so they look a bit odd, and the quality of the photo is dreadful (iPads don't seem to take good pictures), but you get the general idea.

More presents coming from the workroom this week. Will keep you posted!

Very nice! is that a paper pieced pattern or just regular pieced? I have seen a few Union Jack patterns I would like to try but they all seem so complicated. Beautiful work the recipients will love them I'm sure.

Those came out great! I was wondering, too, if they were paper pieced.

Thank you for your kind comments!

They are not paper pieced, just conventional piecing. The pattern isn't great, and I ended up cutting the pieces longer than the pattern stated. I also then squared up the blocks before sewing the red middle section. The pattern isn't complicated, but just time consuming. Cutting out and sewing just one took ages. I ended up making 20 of these and cutting out all the fabric in one go was much easier.

I will try to find the pattern if you are interested. I scanned it some months ago, but can't lay my hands on the scanned copy...
