Default more wool projects

one of our members has been asking questions- becoming interested in working with wool- i am sending a few pictures of some (samples) that show different sized perle cottons used in various ways.
these are parts/blocks from some of the projects i have done in the past few years.

the bottom embroidered flower is wt 5; the blanket stitch on the blackbird/pie is wt 8

this block i used size 12 perle cotton
i hope this gives you an idea of the differences in the wts. i will (after the holidays have settled) make a (sampler block) with all the sizes side by side to give a better example

Thanks for these pics. If my stitches looked like yours, so even and perfect, I would use #5 all the time. ha ha
I can see the difference between the weights tho I wish I could enlarge the pics. And that blackbird pie is adorable.
I also like the bottom piece you've done it is such fine and meticulous work. Thanks so much for showing me the way. You are now my mentor in wool work! Now I am so anxious to get to the Goodwill store here in town to scope out their wools. I hope your day today is awesome and you can get self ready for Santa.

Great wool appliqués! I like the vibrancy of wool appliqué. They seem to have more impact than regular cotton appliqué.

My neighbor and I get together once a week to work on a hand-pieced sampler. We're not quite half-way done, but I was thinking of suggesting doing a wool applique wall hanging for our next project. Thanks for the samples. It's nice to see the difference thread weight makes. Something we will need to think about. I'm looking forward to seeing your sampler. Your work is beautiful.

If you make these pics larger, they are just wonderful. I can see so much more.
